Rental Advice for Homeowner Liability
I am considering renting my home in TV and seeking advice on liability protection just in case an unforeseen event occurs and the renter decides to sue. If the deed is in my name then all my personal assets are at risk, if the deed is in an LLC then only the home is at risk. Is it wise to place the deed in the LLC rather than my name or am I overthinking this?

You need a landlord policy that provides a significant amount of liability coverage. Deeding the house as an LLC may offer some protection, but it is not anywhere close to the way that you stated it, especially if you only have one rental property. An LLC is a limited liability company, not a corporation. It is mostly a name registration. Ask an attorney to explain what protection it may or may not provide.

If your house is in an LLC, you will need to get ON PREMISE liability coverage. That is not the same as an individual umbrella liability which follows you around the world. . ON PREMISE is limited to the renters suing for something on premise.
