Smile Neighborhood social activities

Our neighborhood is new. We will be doing monthly social activities at a nearby rec center. Can you give as many ideas as you can? They can be inside the building or some activity outside---there, or in the area.Casino night is one thought, but where do you get the games? Is there a group who will come and run it (workers and materials)? This is just one incomplete thought. Need help.
Thanks, in advance, for your suggestions. We appreciate plenty of ideas!

I am one who thinks that gathering, eating a potluck and chatting is better than most planned activities monthly.

My personal preference would be eating, talking, and consuming some sort of adult beverage, but that's, just me.
