Blank mailbox keys are 80 cents and up on eBay. So much for not being able to get one.

I don't know, just speculating.. But I would not recommend changing a lock on your mail box as it is not YOUR mail box. It is property of the USPS. I doubt it is ok to change the lock on someone else's property especially that of a government agency. But I'm just speculating...

Actually it's a FEDERAL offense! You could find yourself sleeping next to Paul Manafort in the big house!

Not the same. The pillow tag giver YOU permission to remove it (along with the mattress tag and the mattress pad tag) right on the tag!

You might even be posting to this forum from a room overlooking Fenney at The Fed in Coleman!

EDIT: Never mind, they don't allow cell phones in the big house.

I am a Federal employee and with 4 decades in I can assure you that no one is going to harass you on a mailbox key. We have more pressing matters to attend to. In my area I can't even get a US Attorney to touch case with less than a quarter million in recoverable assets

You have to request a new key if you're using a mailbox at a U.S. Post Office.
If you lost your key for a Villages mailbox, you can get a replacement made at Ace hardware store.
I recently had one made for my sister.

You are wrong and ACE was wrong.

Those boxes are no different than the ones at the USPS physical locations and the keys are clearly marked USPS DO NOT DUPLICATE. It's more likely ACE, as a business, could have a problem for doing it than any individual bringing them in.

Not that anyone would ever be punished for it, it's just a point of information.
