Question Replacing the outdoor lighting and lightpost

We are building a new home in Sanibell but we don't like any of the options for the outdoor lights on the garage or the outdoor hanging light in the entry way. Are we free to replace those with others we acquire ourselves? Are we allowed to replace the lightpost light with something that matches the others? We have more contemporary tastes. Do we need Villages approval to do any of this?

That's great news. I got these lights that look like pink flamingos and when you turn them on their eyes light up and they are looking back over the pink body. The lamp post one has his wings in full flight. YES

...........>>>>>>>>>>> YES <<<<<<<<<<................

Pretty easy to get approval from the A.R.C. .......if the units are,
shall we say, tasteful.

I have a plastic lamp post made in the shape of a gator. When it turns on, the teeth light up. Classy!

I called Community Standards and was told that an ARC request is not needed for upgrading exterior lighting on houses. However, changes to a villa lighting does require ARC approval.

Yah, the ones people put on their lamp post at Christmas that are made out of clear plastic drinking cups,...those look pretty cool when you're stoned too!.....not that I've ever been stoned since living in TV!...Doh!

I love your taste, Chris.

There is no pee in Lake Sumter
There is one ell in Sanibel.

Welcome the ruiz's to the forum. I hope you enjoy your new home and this wonderful place.

I didn't know you could replace the pole light. We have one of those gigundous double lights on our corner in front of our house. It is like noon at midnight. We don't even need ours. I can't even sneak out in my jammies to get the paper in the early morning. It is so bright, I break into my tap dance routine.

Some funny stuff going on here. BTW, you can add to the "There is" list... "There is no mail sent in a lamp post."

Speaking of lamp posts, I wanted this one, buy my Architectural Review Cats (ARC) disapproved:

The Villages Florida
