Default Amenity Fee Billing.....

We closed on a house 11/13. I asked my husband (who was at the closing...I was not) if he signed something that gave them permission to bill the amenity fee each month to our credit card. He said as far as he remembers, there was no paperwork or discussion about the billing of the amenity fee.

So.....my question is, will this magically appear in my home mailbox in VT? I surely would not want it to be going to the Florida address, since no one is picking up that mail. And, at what time of the month is that billed out?

Thanks for your input!

It is a part of the monthly water bill.

You might want to file a forwarding order with the Post Office, so that your TV addressed mail will get to you in VT. That way, for at least 6 months, you will get that mail. That should give you time to notify anyone that is using the TV address that you want your mail in VT. It will cost $1.05 on your credit card.

You should still call them and change your mailing address. By the time the bill gets forwarded to you, and you write the check and mail it back to them, it could end up being late and have a late fee tacked on. We changed our mailing address with them each time we went back up north.

Even though at closing our permanent address was given, they sent our first three bills to our TV address.

You can go on line to USPS.com and file a forward for your mail. It's really easy.

Make sure that you go to USPS.com and not one of the other so called "official" sites to change your address. I almost paid $39.00 plus the $1.05 that usps charges yesterday when I was going to change my address.

The advise to call The Villages offices is a good one.

We get our monthly statement mailed to us in Georgia until our full time move to TV next year.

We are also snowbirds and I just have the bill debited from my checking account. I also have it sent to our up north address when we are there and our down south address when we are here. If you closed in November you probably won't receive your first bill until January.
