Comcast is running notices telling us that soon they will "upgrade" to all digital and this may change our ability to receive stations. I presently have one digital box and the other 4 TVs are just coaxial cabled to the outlets. I don't get HD on them, but I get a fine picture, just like we all did before the HD revolution. Apparently once we are "upgraded" I will get nothing without a rented cable box on each TV. Am I correct that this is what is about to happen? Any techies out there know if there is a way around this increase of for a service I don't want? Can you buy a cable box rather than rent? I think not.

A similar deal with Comcast has already been implemented up north here about a year ago. If the same for you, you will receive two converter boxes at no charge and will pay $1.99 a month for any additional units.

About 2 years ago for us. I have two free converters on old style tv's that work well. (I have two HD DVR boxes on my flat screens) |

Foolish question... for those of us who had our TV's installed on the wall because we don't want to see unsightly electrical cords and boxes, where will this digital box go. I don't believe for a minute that we are the only ones with TV's on walls.

CT, you might want to check with the manufacturer of your wall mount bracket to see if they have an add-on shelf for it.
If they don't have anything like that (or if they want to steer you to a whole new bracket system with a shelf), you could add on something like this - pretty simple and fairly inexpensive: [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Mount-Bracket-Receiver-Cable-Holder/dp/B000X3KOD2/ref=pd_sim_e_3[/ame] Bill ![]() |

These units for basic digital reception are about 4 X 4. Probably could velcro to back of tv if it is slightly off wall. Of course the signal still needs to reach the unit but it might be an option.
