Default Social Security Offices Closed

To save you some time before you drive to Leesburg to visit Social Security. For almost all purposes other than filing paper forms for benefits, the offices are closed. When I asked when they would be re-opened, the answer was "... whenever our budget is restored."

On the way away from the office two people who also were leaving told me that any transaction requiring their computers couldn't be done because the SSA computers had been shut down in Washington.

How about the VA medical facility in The Villages? Is it open?
