For the most part, crime is rising everywhere. If you are moving here from somewhere where the crime is worse, chances are the crime is going up there too.

IF it goes up here, which it may, it will still probably be lower than where most of us came from. Should be an improvement for most of us.

Be vigilant, be safe wherever you are--the answer is simple.

And remember this is in the parking lot of the hospital....
If you're concerned, park closer to it if you are able. Alas, it seems to be the only one I saw, near the front of the lot, but it's there....haven't seen any in other parking lots in the surrounding business areas.

I'm still trying to figure out a profile for a person at Lake Sumter Landing. He looks around is all the profile I have heard.

Let's have specifics, please, so we can all be on the lookout for this criminal.
He has been known to steal, you said, so he would be a criminal.

Just goes to prove that you can not make all the people happy all the time or even some of the people happy some of the time.

I just recieved a e-mail. Yes it was pro - gun control.

A female Shooting in a indoor range had a tee shirt on. And on the back was in print.

"I rather not have someone explain why my panty hose are wrapped around my neck and I am raped and dead vs why I am alive and the rapists has several holes in him. Or something close to that as I deleted it.

Not a good thought close to New Years! My last Post of 2011

Any Way "Happy New Years All- Lets all be safe. That is what is most important for all!

Happy New Year Car and Ruthie. Get your little butts down here to live and to tell us where to get our cars fixed and most of all so you can stop worrying.

I think just reread Dante's Inferno. But I don't think it is really necessary.

Don't worry. Be happy!

You understand me best! 35 years of Administration and " Vocational students 11 and 12th" Graders. You know!

And advocating for people and their car repair issues can put you in the middle! Thats means they are happy and you get beat up. But my job I like it and I feel blessed to have stumbled on this wonder community. TOTV and the Villages themselfs.

If we can get a audience can we stop in for a few minutes when we are there for closing! Wish I could bring the twins with us, Your cat might be happy without them.

Exclamation Privilege

I thought being able to use the Rec Centers, Country Clubs, Pools, etc. was a privilege and not a "right". If this is true why can't The Villages take away
these "privilege's" when someone is convicted of a felony. If someone is convicted of aggravated battery, aggravated assult, etc. why should they be permitted to be use the facilities. If someone assults a child, police officer or "someone over the age of 65" it automatically goes from an assullt, battery, etc. to a higher charge of "aggravated"..This should at least mean they have sacrificed their rights to use what other residents are paying for.
If there is a "catch" that because they pay amenity fees these privileges cannot be denied then then don't charge them for aminity fees and take away the privilege's. This way some would think more before they commit a felony in The Villages. We deserve a peaceful community and there should be some consequences when there is a felony conviction?

Not sure if what you're suggesting is applicable in this particular situation, Penn. The "bad guy"hasn't been determined to be a Villages resident....however if you're talking about someone who lives in TV and is convicted of a felony, well..... I'm not sure if what you suggest can be done or should be done.

It is not a right or a privilege. It is a contract you sign at closing. The Developer agrees to provide amenities and you agree to pay the fee each month.
