Default Roman Shower Glass Blocks Leak?

Mainly interested in situations of homes 10 years old or less.

Has anyone had any water leakage in their Roman shower at the base (edge) of the glass blocks, whereby water has come through to the other side of the blocks? I am referring to the glass blocks on the short wall of the shower that separates the shower from the room.

I believe the original installation would have used grout along the bottom edge of the glass blocks. Former owner of mine put silicone caulk over this area, to fix a leak that partially damaged the outer wall. Of course with caulk you eventually get mold under it. I removed the silicone and original grout, and regrouted it.
