Default Roof Contractors with drones swarming block

Been pestered three different times by reps from roof company over the last two weeks offering free assesment using drones. They try very hard to get the homeowners phone number.

Is this a violation of The Villages no solicitation policy?

Not if they have a Florida door-to-door solicitation permit.

I thought road were public, except in CYV. Community Watch says companies are allowed

So don’t open the door, so Just Say No….no phone number required

I got a phone call from them last week asking if I needed my roof looked at. I told them to call back in 15 years.

If solicitation is allowed then you might as well open the floodgates. If I have to I will put up a no solicitation sign but I think it detracts from the friendly charachter of the neighborhood.

It is very annoying to have salesman ringing the doorbell especially if I am taking a nap.I found this at Solicitation in the Villages - The VHA

Are solicitors selling products or services allowed to come to my home?

All the roadways within The Villages are public, and the District is not permitted to restrict access to the community. If you see solicitors going door-to-door in your area, please contact Community Standards at (352) 751-3912, as solicitation is not permitted in The Villages. After hours, please contact Community Watch at (352) 753-0550. Although Community Standards and Community Watch will not approach a solicitor, they will contact the company to inform them that soliciting is not permitted in The Villages.

Default Drones

Drones should only be flown with permission above anyone’s house. Otherwise they only belong in parks and over open farm land. What ever happened to respect?

They do let you know beforehand when they offer their free roof analysis.

You could be right. It may be a policy that can not be enforced but it is very rare to have uninvited solicitors show up at your door. Why is that?

No solicitation is only a policy not law…policy is not really enforced here…

Sumter County does have strict rules governing solicitation.

It is good to hear roofers are soliciting again.
Sounds like they are 'caught-up' from last years damage due to the hurricane passing by.

Yeah, you are not welcome to knock at my door, unless a neighbor or someone I'm expecting.

Rude. I won't do business with rude.
A third of Villagers are too busy.
A third are too afraid to open the door.
And a third are taking a nap.

And: Do you think I would let someone on my roof, or even waste my time with a quote without thoroughly checking you out first?
A business license on a card means nothing (nowadays), insurance?, google reviews?, and a chance a search for other reviews?
Go away. I'll call you. No, probably not you.

I can not find any background on this company. Not even in BBB.

But it does have a slick website.
