roof ridge vents

Angry roof ridge vents

seems like a lot of ridge vents are falling apart , my house is only 8 years old. and you can forget any warranty, worthless. owens corning ridge vents. i talk to t.v. warranty dept no help, talk to the roof installer he no longer does work for the villages , no help. i will have to pay a roofer to replace ridge vents.

Your solution is obvious. Install cap vents and diy. In the newest areas TV uses cap vents extensively.. The plastic ones are ten bucks at Sparr. I have added eight myself to increase the airflow.

Have the rest of your roof checked if your ridge vents are messed up, who knows what else is messed up, flashings, boots etc

I question how long plastic vents would last on a rooftop in this hot Florida sun. Much better, IMO, to pay more and get the aluminum ones. The time and effort needed to install them is the same.
