Default Safe Ship Magnolia Plaza

Maybe I'm just being cranky but when I took a prepaid Amazon return into the new Safe Ship they wanted to charge me a dollar for handing it to them. I declined.

We've brought many prepaid Fed-EX letters and packages to the Safe Ship in Colony Plaza and never, ever been charged. You might try there.

That seems awfully cheap to save your time and energy finding somewhere that will take it for free. My husband has been charged a dollar at safe ship in colony. He was fine with that.

Amazon prime typically ships through ups. I bring it to the ups store and they take it and give a receipt. If you haven't figured out by now Safe ship is not affiliated with ups, usps or fedex so it is to be expected they'd charge a handling fee.

No need to post to the world that we're all getting old, cranky and severely suffering from common sense erosion.

Thanks! Didn't know that; explains why we've paid no fees!

It was a UPS label I assume. They are not a UPS franchisee, only Fedex and USPS but they take UPS packages as a customer courtesy as they have to pay UPS for weekly pickup service. I managed a The UPS Store for 3+ years up north and we charged $3 for every Fedex prepaid drop off. Fedex charged us $9/week whether we had 1 package or 50. If you take it to a "The UPS Store" or drop it in a UPS drop box you'll save the buck. $1 does sounds petty, they should charge at least $2.

You have a typo there. SafeShip is **NOT** affiliated with UPS but ARE with USPS & Fedex. Eventually like the The UPS Store who was originally known as "Mailboxes Etc" they could likely end up being a "Fedex Store" according to some trade papers years ago.

So at almost $3.00 a gallon of gas, you stood on principle and didnt pay a whole $1.00 and drove to the UPS store.

Hope im not your next waiter.

I used to be charged a dollar at Safe Ship in Colony for some pickups. Maybe it was UPS and not Fed-Ex. Anyway, I stopped using them for that reason. When the UPS store in Pinellas Plaza opened, I started going there.

He was charged a buck because it was a UPS package not a Fedex pkg just like The UPS Store would charge you for dropping off a FEDEX package (if they even take it).

On my Amazon Prime account, it almost always gives me the Pinellas UPS store. No label drop off. When you go in they ask your name, and pull up your account, faster than getting barcode off phone. The staff is always nice.

If you are returning reason is you don’t like it, it sends me to UPS somewhere near SS.
