Hopefully the organizers have learned something from last year's show in terms of traffic control. I was stuck in one of the parking corrales for several hours trying to get out. I had to get out of my car and go up and down the entrance/exit road to plead with the traffic control people to come over and stop the incoming traffic long enough for me and all the others in the same corrale to finally get out. It was a nightmare that I never want to repeat.

My strong suggestion for anyone going is to take a golf cart and park at the nearby rec center or neighboring streets and then walk the rest of the way to the event. Unless major changes have been made to the access/egress/parking situation at the polo grounds, it is entirely inadequate for an event of this size.

Event is not at Polo grounds this year. NJBlue is exactly right. Far more people came last year (23000) on Saturday than ever before. This year the cookoff and displays will be at Lake Sumter Landing . WE recommend comming by golf cart if possible so that more people can be accomodated in the lots.

My apologies. I guess I was reading the ads and your post from the perspective that it was going to be at the Polo grounds and failed to see the actual location. Sumter Landing is definitely a better choice from a traffic perspective.

Prepare for massive crowds, lines that wrap around other lines and NO parking, not even for golf carts. I'll stay home and make my own chili!

oh, I think it's going to be fun! The people who make the chili are so competitive, and it's great to try different recipes. Also the home show vendors will be interesting too.

That's a good deal for me. Then I'll have room to park my golf cart. I predict it will be bigger and better than last year!

What time is the event scheduled for and how long will it last?

ETA: Just now looked at the Feb. schedule of events at the squares. The event is from 11am to 3pm.
