Default Savannah Center - best place to sit?

Any recommendation for selecting seats at The Savannah Center would be greatly appreciated. This will be our first visit there. I've read that seating on the floor is extremely tight . . . and that the balcony may be a better choice for providing breathing room??? Thanks!

I would agree, but both locations are pretty cozy. Although it's a bit distant, we prefer the balcony for its unobstructed view and armrests on the seats. That said, many people like to sit up close and personal, and if you have mobility issues, the floor seating is a must.

don't sit on the front row. looking up at people's necks isn't a good view.

The balcony is fine provided you don't end up next to a very large person. What are the chances of that? It only happened to me once afer going there several times but it made me feel uncomfortable. Luckily, I was on the end of the row and could lean to my right.

I think the seats should be biger, big enough to accomodate everyone. Let's face it, in today's world, people are getting bigger.

I agree, PL, the seating in the balcony is tight. Also, I don't think they should allow people to bring their drinks in, IMHO.

When I first came, I quickly learned that the floor seats were not only tight, but also exceedingly uncomfortable.

The comfort level has since been corrected, I'm told, but I still prefer the so-called balcony seats, mostly because of the better sight-line.

For the most popular shows, it is important to get your tickets early, or you'll miss out on preferred seating!

Savannah Center remains our best theatre-style venue, despite its acknowledged short-comings! Renovations will be under way soon at Church on the Square which will reportedly upgrade the ambience there; I'm anxious to see how that turns out!

Thank you everyone - for your recommendations. We purchased tickets today...and based on all the valuable input left here - we went for balcony seats.

This site is such a great source of information for newbies! Thanks, again!

Floor seats are all the same level. My vertically challenged wife usually finds herself seated behind a basketball player when we get floor seats. Balcony seats work better for us.
