Default Pickleball Leagues

Does anyone have any info on pickleball leagues? I'm interested in joining a league but I don't know how to go about it.I live in the village of Amelia so my preference would be to play on the southside of 466 but I would go to any rec center accepting new players.I have played with some advanced players and seemed to fit in but I probably belong in an intermediate league seeing how i haven't played a lot. Thanks !

In yesterday's Rec Guide it gives all the information about how to join, where the leagues and what level. Really all you have to do is read the paper , you can find out most any info you need about The Villages. Wait, I think it was last week's Rec Guide. You can pick it up at any Rec center.

Pickleball leagues are at 10:00 am. According to the already mentioned Rec News, the following are all available on Thursdays:

Same partner mixed advanced at Lake Miona
Same partner mixed interm at Bacall, Canal, and Truman
Mens individual adv at Mulberry
Mens same partner Int at Allamanda
Mens same partner Adv at Hibiscus.

If you dont have a partner , you could ask the rec center to help you find a partner . I assumed you are a male.

A better solution might be the brand new Intermediate Teams that are starting in Jan. It is just like softball with a draft. I think that it will be on Wednesdays. Not sure what time. Contact Jim at jvanvoorhies@mvlaw.com

In January they are going to start an intermediate team pickleball league. 10 players or so per team (there will be a draft for each team) and you play for 6-8 weeks on a Saturday or Sunday afternoons. We just finished an advanced league at Sea Breeze and it went pretty well . . . keep reading the Rec paper and there will be info in it about sighing up.
Go to your local courts and look for the name of the pickleball rep and he/she may know of groups at your level and where they play, some like "the crew" are by invite only.
There is good informal high intermediate play on Mondays at 3pm at Laural Manor and a group of softball players who are stong pickleball players get together on Thursdays at Pimilico and I'm sure there are many more groups out there if you search them out.

Default Leagues

Sign-ups for the 3.0-3.5 league is starting contact Jim Van Voohies at jvanvoorhies@mvlaw.com

Registration for the 4.0-4.5 league begins Jan 3rd at Sea Breeze starting at noon.

About 8 teams will be in each league and players will be drafted!

If you are not sure where you belong then self-rate yourself as a 3.5 and play the first time in the intermediate league and see how it goes!
