More likely a side effect of the media:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Not that simple ordering and delivery dates are sketchy. I tried to order online from Winn Dixie and before I could I needed to pay $99 for the service which was immediately deducted from my bank account. After spending considerable amount of time with my shopping list, I tried to check out. It wouldn’t let me checkout because there was no delivery dates available!! Forget online. Waste of time. I’d rather get my own groceries on my time schedule. And I demanded my money be returned as this service was a sham. I got it back! Won’t use those services ever again.

It would be helpful for what service you tried. Winn Dixie does not have a service. I use Amazon, Which has Whole Foods, and shipped, never a problem. Have used amazon even the day after hurricane, arrived complete and on time

Most people that speak other languages can also understand English, unless of cause they are illegals... In the Orlando/Kissimmee areas they are mostly Puerto Ricans, American Citizens that DO understand the language you were ready to curse with....

People are not illegal. Peoples' actions are legal/illegal.

Also, there are millions of undocumented immigrants in the USA, most of whom speak English as a second language. How many languages do YOU speak?

I had the privilege of working with a man who just left for his homeland because the risk for COVID there was lower than the risk for it here. He spoke two dialects of Spanish from South America, Castillian Spanish (from Spain), Quebecois (a French language of Canada), Portuguese, German, and English. His cousin who lives in the USA is undocumented. His cousin speaks all the same languages.

Before criticizing people who you THINK don't speak English simply because they don't have the correct authorizations to live in this country, consider your own linguistic abilities (or lack thereof).

Or those riding in their golf cart alone with a mask.
Are those people afraid? Or are they "protecting" their steering wheels????

Neither, they're very confused. ;)

You scream
I scream
The police come
It's awkward.

All kidding aside though, maybe the guy has PTSD and there was just one too many "last straws" in his day that put him over the edge. I get triggered by confrontation so this is how I handle a rude ahole that gets in my face. I smile sweetly and say "Lucky for you I am a nice person. The NEXT Veteran with PTSD you verbally attack might not be. Keep that in mind."

It was Shipt. Real scam artists. $99 a year. Not worth two cents!

Publix has an excellent online app for doing this. You shop online and put what need in your cart and submit it with your payment method. It tells you how long it might be before you get a store shopper, but it almost always happens faster. When a shopper is available you get a notice that he/she has started putting your order together. You get their name and they communicate with you throughout (if something isn’t available they suggest possible alternatives for you and you can decide). You are then notified when they have checked out (the final amount is charged to your card) and are on the way. They leave your order at your door. They wear a mask throughout the whole process. We use it about once a week. Works great!

Is this different from Instacart?

I have only one answer to your query......I've done it myself. When I'm "store hopping", rather than removing my mask I keep it on when driving in the car. I remove the mask when I've left the last store I plan to go to. Then I throw away my disposable mask that I make myself. I don't take off my mask when I'm in my golf cart when I go from Publix to Walmart grocery across the street.

That is what I do. If I'm not going into indoor spaces, I certainly do not wear a mask when in my car or golf cart. I also do not wear a mask when I'm outdoors and can easily maintain social distancing.

Once, a few years ago, I was working at a particular store. Parents sometimes brought their kids with them, but it wasn't a common thing outside of Back to School Season.

On a particular day, a mom came in with her toddler. The toddler was making a fuss in every aisle - we could hear him whining MOMMY I WANT....

He was getting pretty worked up, and eventually it sent him into a full-blown temper tantrum complete with uncontrollable gasping and physical shuddering.

Mom, the trooper that she was, got him safely through the aisles, getting what she needed, and finally they ended up at my cashier line. The kid was still screaming - I mean SCREAMING. As if she was beating him bloody - even though she clearly hadn't laid a hand on him, or even raised her voice.

So - I screamed too. Shocked the crap out of my fellow co-workers but I figured hey - if it's good enough for this kid to get it out of his system, it's good enough for me.

Well that shut this kid up quick in a hurry. And everyone in line laughed their butts off. It was a wonderful day.

Just like the dog wisperer, Cesar Millan. Right? It is called redirecting.
