Default I Thought I Seen It All but.....

A few days ago I saw a woman in the roundabout making a left turn on the left side of the roundabout, (coming from Belverdere and made a left turn onto Buena Vista Blvd). She was looking around and didn't seem to notice she had entered the roundabout incorrectly. Whoa!!!!!

Fortunately no one was in the roundabout and she made the left turn unharmed. I sure hope she is a newbie and takes proper care in her driving.

Has anyone else seen this before?

Let's be careful out there.

Not in a RB in TV. But in Auburn, NYS route 5 comes thru the middle of town and the westbound lanes are separated from the eastbound by 1 block. Where it intersects the main N-S route, there is a traffic light at each crossing. Despite huge one way and do not enter signs, I witness someone turning into oncoming traffic about once a month. No fatalities that I have heard of, but a lot of p****d off motorists

I know I’ll need an education on roundabouts (more than a YouTube video). I’m 54, lived in NY, FL, MD, VA, MO, AZ, and WA. All that being said, I have absolutely no experience with roundabouts. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve encountered them in my lifetime.

Be patient with us rookies. We learn fast but need more than a day

Yup, saw it once. A very big old Caddy with a very small old lady driving. She went all the way around. I sincerely doubt she had any clue she was going the wrong way. Fortunately, there were no other cars in the circle. One car was waiting to enter but just sat there shaking his head til she exited.

Yes, and the lady was yelling at her husband (the driver) and shaking her finger at him the entire time. LOL

Seen it TWICE now! Also seen a couple stopped in the roundabout right lane looking at a map. That along with a some cars on the cart path and cart in the roadways that don't belong there. Also never drive in someone's blind spot going in a roundabout. Many times they will cut over from the right lane to turn left or left to turn right real quick. Just be careful out there.

A few years back, Fireboy entered a roundabout by the Savanah Center and encountered a woman driving the wrong way.
She was so irritated that she actually shook her fist at him.

Three times, I've seen cars driving on the MM paths. Please be careful out there!

Not only that, but with the eventual (mythological) build-out, there will need to be a higher turn-over of existing homes to keep inventory up.

A year or so ago I saw a woman make a left turn out of the street at Turtle Mound, into the round-a-bout, and a left turn at Buena Vista. Everyone "froze".

If I have the proper location???The round a bout at Belvedere and Buena Vista is located as you exit the gate at Bonnybrook. Making a 90 degree left would place her on the wrong side of Buena Vista?

In 2011 shortly after Buena Vista had opened but wasn't in very much use since no homes were built in that area and Brownwood didn't exist. A man was out just doodling around in his golf cart about 9pm in the evening. It wasn't quite dark yet and he didn't have his headlights on, and he was driving on Buena Vista. I don't believe any side streets had been built yet, maybe Pinellas was there. He went around a traffic circle the wrong way and truck was going north on Buena Vista and they had a head-on collision and the man in the cart died.

Not much different than any intersection. Enter in the left lane turn left or go straight. Enter in the right lane turn right or go straight. Use your turn signals so we know what you are going to do. Like any multi-lane road, no left turns from the right lane and no right turns from the left lane. When you enter a round a bout STAY IN THE LANE YOU ENTERED IN until you exit. It's really not that hard. One other thing, drive defensively because as the traffic increases people will scare they hell out of you in those suckers.
