Don't flatter yourself. Looney's post is simply correct...as is gracie's.

There is no reason when the news paper is printed that they can not add a line about not saving sets in the entertainment section on a daily basis.
It would be easy adding it in each box when they print up who is playing daily. For those that can't hear the announcement or are not there when it
is announced then maybe they can read "Saving of seats not permitted" printed in the entertainment section daily.

I wonder if the folks that this guy was saving the seats for thought of his action? I wonder if they sat in the seats? I would have stayed far away from those seats if someone was saving them for me. (although no one I know would be a seat saver....at least I hope not)

I very seldem ever go to the squares any more because there are never available seats and one in our family is handicapped and needs to sit. When we are looking for a seat, no one has ever offered him a seat even though he is visably handicapped.

People have always offered him a seat in waiting rooms at restaurants and other public venues......but never at the squares.

How? How exactly? These are rules not laws. Police can't enforce no seat saving, just if someone gets physical. The squares are open to the public so you can't de-card people who don't live here. You could have someone pick up and remove all stuff I guess and be prepared that someone who had a lot of wine with dinner might make a huge fuss and hit someone. I like the kind of sign that Just Jim suggested, but there are some folks who think they can do anything they damn well please anytime.

Tell me exactly how, Walter, how the developer could resolve it easily?

So OK, let the developer do nothing and, like I said, the bullies win ans the meek lose. Let the developer wait until someone is seriously injured. I know you think the developer can do no wrong and I agree that he did a wonderful job but this is a problem and this place is a work in progress. It amazes me that you would give the developer a free pass on this......or maybe it doesn't.

A rule means NOTHING if it is not enforced.

Sad, but true.

The developer will take the time and spend the money to send a community watch person to somebody's house because they have a silly little lawn ornament that doesn't comply with "the rules". Maybe community watch can make themselves even more useful and be responsible for removing the seat saver articles but that probably won't happen because the developer may not want to be involved in a workers comp case if some seat saver slugs his employee.

This problem has gone on for a long time on Cruise ships. At swimming pools here, the very few times I see towels saving places I have done nothing, but oh I wanted to throw them in the pool. The situation is not easy to solve. I think the bad guys are taking over the world.

I have also experienced seat saving on cruise ships which have similar unenforced rules. In general it seems to me people are not as polite, refined, or "well bred" if that term still survives the PC police, the only hard core police remaining.

There have always been bad guys, bad religion, bad governments. This will never change and many people make careers servicing all the bad stuff. This one dimwit that assaulted a stand up woman will pay the price for his actions. We aren't being taken over because most of us were raised by good women that made us into good men.

We're not on a cruise ship.

The problem IS easy to solve.

Many people will do whatever they can get away with. All the talking and signs mean nothing if it is not enforced. It's like little kids testing a substitute teacher. The developer needs to have someone removing saved seats for a few weeks until they get the word.
