Default Driving from The Villages to Canada

Tomorrow, sadly, Fireboy and Bare once more reluctantly leave our home in The Villages to start our trek back to Canada with our two dogs.
We plan to take the scenic route, I-95 to I-77 to I-79.

Could anyone offer any suggestions for pet-friendly hotels?
Preferably hotels like La Quinta that allow two dogs and don't charge pet fees.

The first night we'd like to stay in South Carolina.
And the second night we'd like to stay in North Virginia or South Pa.

Could anyone that has travelled with pets offer any wisdom on good pet-friendly motels in those area?
We used to often book Red Roof Inns. While some are quite OK, others are not.

Your comments would be most appreciated.

It's been several years since we traveled with a dog, but my suggestion would be to search the internet for pet friendly accommodation.

In any case, travel safely back to your beautiful Canadian summer.

We stay at La Quinta Inns when we travel with Bogey. They have a lot of locations, just google them.

When our dog was still alive, we always stayed at a La Quinta.

I have googled BringFido and other pet friendly sites, but it's difficult to tell which hotels are good unless someone recommends them.

We do like La Quinta Inns a lot, they allow two pets free!
But I can't find any La Quinta Inns in southern Pa, and I don't think there are any in Virginia.
Because it's the weekend, some are already fully booked.

There are always Red Roof Hotels which allow one pet without a fee, and there are lots of RR Hotels.
We've just found La Quintas to be a bit nicer and more consistently so.

We were supposed to leave at 5 AM this morning.
Obviously I need to get off the computer right now!

I can't help you with hotels on your route, but I have always found tripadvisor.com to be a good way to check out hotels. The reviews and ratings on that site have never let me down.

Have a great trip to your Summer home.

An option is to stop in at a AAA office. They would know the pet friendly hotels, and their rating system is quite good. And there are discounts and options to book right there. However, there may be a membership fee.

Raleigh has a Laquinta that we stayed at. Was an easy drive from the villages.
