Well after talking to Seco I was told that it was from a "previous" Courtyard Villa that we sold 2 years ago and at that time after living up North I contacted Seco as to my listing with Realtor to "either" sell
or rent and in the event I did rent it that power would be put "back on" (in the event renter moved) so that there would be no "interruption" of power in the event if I wanted to show to prospective buyers...or rent but I finally sold it am now responsible for previous owners last Electric bill since power went back to my name after tenant moved out even though there is a new "owner"
I explained that "this" Villa had been sold 2 years ago but she said that I "neglected" to cancel the "Keep Power On" agreement.
As furious as I am I'll pay the Bill but told her I don't think it's right since I no longer own this property but maybe....? .....maybe it is my fault as they (SECO) must have thought I had it rented... who knows but I am learning MORE THAN ONCE.....to cover yourself in ANYTHING!!!
Tried contacting the "owner" .....but that's more trouble than it's worth !! so the moral to this story is not to just pay off your FINAL bill but to "Make Sure" all utilities are Disconnected and OUT of your name!
