The gate cards are not infra red or light activated so window tinting has no play in its function. The cards are actually along the lines of the Sun Pass that you put on your windshield. Since their signal is very weak, they must be at close proximity to the gate sensor. And this proximity varies from gate to gate.

Remember that at unmanned gates the gate cards work in both the visitor and resident lanes.

Don't know if it's true, but I've heard from a reliable source, that these upgraded cards work by sending a stronger signal through windows. They also allow you to go past stop signs without stopping, make turns without signaling, leave doggie doo for others to pick up and to not repair ball marks on greens.
I'm pretty sure that's the card I have!

I can tell you that I have had my gate card since March 2007 (almost 5 years) and I don't believe that it is anything special like the Priority Gate Card as mentioned. I will admit that I do approach the gate sensor as closely as possible - never to the far right. And, again, I've had 100% capability to access without ever having to roll down the window. I have 2 vehicles and one has tinted windows and one does not. Makes no differene which vehicle I'm in-they both work OK at the gates without the window being rolled down.

Maybe your side window is not tinted. Mine is.

How dare you bring this back to the topic!! YOU KNOW the rule is to see how far off topic you can get and how fast.

I can put a thread off topic in 2 comments!!!

Is there any difference if your making your move from the resident lane to the vistors lane or from one metered lane on the interstate to another or the left lane to the right lane and back. Finally any difference in making amove to the lane you guess has less people with less groceries. Gosh just make your move but......do it safely

I agree 100%, all traffic should have to come to a complete stop at the gates and not be waved through,it is the only way a cart has chance of making a safe crossing

It would seem this is a direct contradiction to post #14 and I quote…..

Quote:
Carts must yield, HOWEVER, those who might be new to this community, might not know this...and when a car stops to let a cart pass, the cart could be in danger with cars coming from the opposite direction.....AND, cars are now backed up while waiting for that cart to go by. It's much easier for a cart to wait for the cars to go through...and it's the correct thing to do.

Personally, there are times when running over the cart could seem like the right thing to do....but we mustn't ....

No, it's not.

The post was agreeing with my post that the gate attendants should not open the visitor lane gate in advance to allow vehicles (usually vendors) to pass through without slowing or stopping. It has nothing to do with stopping after the gate has been opened to allow a cart to cross.

There are gated communities in Orlando. Sell and move there if you think it is such a big deal. For PETE'S SAKE!!!!!

Yes I was. I was gonna say it is that time of the month but I know no one would believe me and the best thing I can come up with is The kids left for the North. But that isn't really a good excuse.

I get so tired of people saying that the damned developers sold them a gated community and it is NO gated community and the burglers and robbers and rapists and people who aren't English majors and other groups of bad people are just waiting to pounce on us, break in and steal all of our Precious Moments Collections and doilies and we should go out and learn to use firearms and Katie bar the door and don't leave windows open in nice weather either.

I didn't even see that the theme of the thread was how to get through one of our fake gates and whether to use the visitors side and try not to run over people in golf carts, except for snowbirds (Since I am now a frog). I just showed my fanny. I am sorry. I will try to do better. Please, no one sell their homes and move to Orlando. I didn't really mean it.

Thank you. I feel better. I do so love to hear what you all have to say. Please give me one more chance to be nice.
