Default TPO Roofing

Has anyone had a new TPO roof installed? This is the white colored roof that is used in The Villages on some of the manufactured homes. Please let me know what your thoughts are. I may want to ask you some questions regarding the roof. Thanks in advance for responding.

I just had one done - completed today. If you would like you can PM me. I do not wish to have any debates by "the experts" here on TOTV but willing to share with you my experience.

TPO is excellent material for roofing. Be sure it was made by a known supplier here in the US. (Carlyle is a top brand, Firestone is good). Normally comes in different thicknesses. .045 mil is as thin as I would allow. This should last at least 10 years. .060 mil is a little thicker and should last 20 years. Thicker is also more resistant to hail damage. Next question is how it will be adhered to the roof. Mechanically fastened is best or it can be glued down. Be sure the supplier gives you a wind rating in the proposal. For here, insist on 120+ wind rating. When completed, you should get a written warrenty from the TPO roofing material company.

Sorry for the long story. Hope it helps you
