Pitch ‘n Putt will get old, retail will be inadequate and construction traffic coming up and down Morse won’t let up for another 10 years, minimum.

Do you really believe that the developers are as short sighted as you are? Have you not seen the maps that have been put out in the paper over the last year that have shown golf courses, retail areas, recreation facilities, and more? There's a lot to come that we know nothing about but guaranteed there is a well thought out plan.
No, they're not going to share with you or anyone else exactly what they have planned, it's their business and none of you yours or anyone else's. They've proven for 30 years now that they have a plan and a product that works and works well. They've changed with the times and needs and have experimented with many different ideas and concepts, some worked and some didn't work as well, we're seeing hints of changes to come even now.
Between March 2002 and September 2004 all of the CDDs between CR466 and SR44 (CDD5 through CDD10) were established. That's thousands of acers of land that were purchased and plans laid out. For those of you who pray at the alter of Harold Schwartz saying he would have never done it like this or let it get so big, you're clueless. Mr. Schwartz died in December 2003 in the middle of this great expansion. He was an integral and driving part of the planning, growth, dream, and success of The Villages. Do you think that that was the end of it at SR44, doubtful, the lots weren't laid out south of SR44 but no doubt the ground work was being done even back then. Did it really make any since to put Brownwood and the Rohan Rec Center all the way at the south end? Doesn't look like poor planning any more.
For anyone south of CR466 who wants to sing the "It's too big, they need to stop growing" song, you need to change your tune, try singing "I'm a fool because I didn't do my homework" because the plans were all out there in the public records for all to see, all you needed to do was look.
In my opinion, Fenney was unexpected fruit when the developer of Wildwood Springs finally gave up and went looking for a way to cut their losses. They saw an opportunity and jumped on it, now the work continues to backfill the gap between Fenney and the rest of The Villages. To separate the two would be a huge mistake, and if they did and they built something new and different, an indoor pool for example, the crying would start north of SR44, "how come they get that and we don't, it's not fair...:cryin2:".
We're just seeing the start of something big, the Landstone purchase, the Baily bridge, roads that strangely end in Southern Oaks, the Cow Hammock purchases, Leesburg properties at SR470, close but unconnected swaths of land, and may other things are just a glimpse of things to come.
