Default Serious accident on BV at Lib Park roundabout

Just saw police, EMT's, Fire Dept and Community Watch handling a serious accident just outside the Liberty Park gate on Buena Vista. Looks like the car took down a large palm tree when he hit is. Seems like he was going the wrong way? The car was on the west side of BV facing in the north direction. Hope the person will be okay, seems the medics were treating it calmly so I'm hoping the injuries weren't very serious.

Anyone know any details??

I was JUST there. Not even fifteen minutes ago. I was in a golf cart from through there from Duval. I always try to be thankful when I'm delayed a few minutes or held up a little longer than I want. You never know what God may be preventing in your life. I hope they are okay too. Gives me cold chills.

Me too, BK,,, I usually go through Liberty Park gate after dropping my friend off but I went in another direction. Left me a little shaky. Did it appear to you that the injuries weren't very serious? I do hope so. I think it was only one person in the car. Well, we'll find out soon enough but I noticed today a lot of drivers around town who are unfamiliar with our roundabouts and were cutting people off or driving a little faster than normal.

Just drove past Freedom Pointe and there is a scooter laying in pieces on it's side in the intersection of Buenos Aires and El Camino Real. People need to slow down and stay focused.

The website of the "other" newspaper shows a photo of a car driven into a tree (which it knocked over) by a woman from Pennecamp who possibly sustained a head injury.

I saw that Bob. I hope she will be o.k. It is hard to think how one could knock down a tree going about ten MPH in a circle.

Recently a driver lost control of their cart in a tunnel. I wondered the same thing. How do you lose control going so slowly? Either they were speeding or perhaps had a medical emergency. Guess we will never know.

The Daily Sun states that she was going straight through the roundabout, so obviously she wasn't slowing down.

Possibly she was having a medical issue. That opinion is sheer speculation. I don't really know the reason she failed to turn.

Talking on the phone, texting, combing her hair, eating a bagel, there are many ways.

I would guess distracted while doing something like Bogie suggested was the cause of her not realizing she was coming fast into a circle. Definitely had to be speeding in order to break the palm tree like the picture shows.
