There are plenty of people who have N95 masks, and have kept a supply on hand, for various jobs and tasks, long before this crisis.

Riding through a cloud of virus in a golf cart? Really? If you encounter such a cloud without a N95 Mask ... the other masks do little or nothing to protect you. Get real people. Stop panicking.

A mask will stop your own sneeze from being projected. A mask is a reminder for you to avoid touching your face. Those are the primary reasons to wear the mask.

Being in an enclosed room with a sneezer is dangerous .. being outside is safe whether you have a mask or not.

But, this whole fiasco is such BS.

I'm not wearing a mask and no one is going to make me (or shame me) into doing so. The people who insist that I wear a mask are the same ones that insist I get a vaccine (for the flu or anything else). I've never gotten the flu vaccine and don't get the flu. You want to protect yourself? You can:

1) Go find an N95 mask
2) Stay home

My right to breathe freely overrides your right to leave your house. Damn world is upside down.

Sorry, but many people legitimately have N95 masks. I have four because I do a lot of home projects. Had them many months prior to the virus. I stained our cabinets, sanded drywall, etc. They were all used so unable to donate them to medical personnel. Like those medical people, I do reuse them. I put them in a microwave for 15 seconds to “clean”. Don’t automatically judge someone when you may not have all the facts.

I don’t believe your scenario is reality or fear beyond a reasonable doubt. But if you think that is possible you should just stay home. Your more likely to get killed by a truck at an intersection.

It’s not your place to think for us. If you want to wear your mask, wear it! Those of us that don’t wear them are doing what we feel we need to do to be safe. I wear gloves when I go to the store or pump gas and that is my thing. This is still the United States of America and we are free to do what we feel is right for ourselves. I personally don’t feel the masks do any good. My choice, not yours.

Picture this - you're riding behind another cart or even approaching another cart when someone that has been exposed (you really can't tell this, can you?) sneezes and you drive through the sneeze droplets. Guess what? You could get infected and by the looks of most of the people I've seen driving a cart without a mask, if you get infected, YOU COULD POSSIBLY DIE.

Mine is own from the time I leave the house to go to work until the time I get home.

You are not invincible - WEAR A FREAKING MASK.
So far I haven’t noticed any spit on the windshield of the golf cart, but I will pay more attention next time.

just take a T-shirt or a Suck and make one. For instructions check YouTube. It takes 10 seconds to make. Good luck.

You can easily make a mask with 2 layers of 100% cotton material accordion style folded and place a coffee filter in between the layers. Fold over each end over a rubber band. Simple but somewhat effective to go out. Masks help me remember not to put my hands near my nose or mouth so it is protection for me. Throw the coffee filter away and immediately wash (in machine) the material. Anything I can do is a plus in my book. Lots of good non-sew masks on the internet and the supplies are already in my home. Stay safe and healthy everyone.

She doesn't sew and has no bandanas, hankerchiefs or scarves.

Where can she or her husband go to buy masks? Thanks
My wife got on you tube and there are numerous places to make masks that you don’t have to sew up o.

Maybe it's time to just stay home. What's more important, your health, possibly your life or golf?
