Question Nuisance calls

Has anyone else received nuisance calls from 149-694-0059? At all hours, too. We have received dozens recently and don't answer calls from unknown sources. We can't block it because 149 is not a valid Area Code and the Comcast telephone techs are supposed to be seeing what they can do to block the number for us.

Get rid of your land line and just use cell phones as we do. Nuisance call are non-existent on the cell numbers we have had for years.

Ummm, we have had a cell only for two years but still get some nuisance calls. Also if you need to make a 911 call with your cell, immediately tell the operator what county and state you are calling from. A 5 dollar fee blocks most nuisance calls but religious groups and non profits can still call.

Well.... Comcast said that they couldn't block if from their end either (hmm....) and to try and ignore the calls. Thanks Comcast. The good thing is that the calls have ceased. BTW, the Comcast combo of TV/internet/telephone is less expensive than w/o the telephone.

Not sure if it really works but for 'robocalls', it was said to hit the # button seven or eight times and for a general call from a live person, we tell them to wait just a minute and set the phone down and go about our business for a few minutes.

That is exactly what I was going to tell them to do.. once you get a live person on the line.. put the phone down.. and it ties up their end. Or else if I am in a goofy mood , I play like I have a little bit of craziness and just blabber away.
Thank goodness we don't get many of these calls.
