Question Newspaper Recycling

Loaded up the car yesterday with old newspapers and today went to our usual disposal point which was located in the parking lot of the church at the corner of Morse and 466. To our surprise the paper bin was no longer there. We need to get rid of these papers. Where else can they be deposited. I think St. Timothys has paper recycling but is there any other places where we can take them?

I put mine on the curb on Thursdays when the recycle truck comes by.

I don't understand why you don't put them out on your recycle pickup day.

Because we want to help some organization that is raising money because of the newspaper recycling instead of just putting it out on the curb.

We take ours to the bins at the County building/Sheriff's office at 466 and Morse. They are located in the back. We don't put them out with the recyclables because the bag gets too heavy.

I tie the papers in bundles with string and put them out next to the other recyclables. Sometimes they are gone in the morning. I don't know if some one is taking them to a charitable place or to the various animal shelters.

As long as they are gone.

Our back door neighbor is a volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul (located at St.Timothy's) and has asked us to save our newspapers for them. She is someone in charge of bean counting and she said it really, really adds up and they get a lot of financial help at St. Vincent de Paul from recycling old newspapers.

There is a bin behind the New Covenant United Methodist Church. The church is at the corner of Woodridge and County Road 101, "behind" Southern Trace Plaza.

There is new construction happening behind the church but when I was there a couple of weeks ago, the bin was there, tucked close behind the church on the left side.

jr:

I've taken my papers to the Hope Lutheran recycle site for many years. I'm sad to hear that maybe they've given up. I wonder if the construction next door at Fairway Christian may be a problem?

The best alternative that I know about is at St. Timothy's Catholic Community up near Spanish Springs!

If New Covenant also collects, they may be slightly more convenient!

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church has a bin that we use. I'm thinking the proceeds go to the building fund.

Today my wife talked to people who attend Hope Lutheran. They said it was not their decision to remove the bin but the company who owns it. No explanation given.
