Post Shoe or purse Repair need help rewrapping a leather handle, I have the material

I've called numerous places that used to do shoe repair (or purse), and they've all gone out of business, including Evans, AJ. Flip flop does not do shoes, and certainly not purses. Would anyone be willing to use my new white leather strips I bought at the fabric store and to wrap it around my purse handles and sew it for me. I can't find anyone!

Just a thought...look up and contact either a Quilters club or Sewing club here in The Villages. Those in the club(s) seem to have quite the array of sewing machines, etc.

I thought the repair shops went out of business because women had 2,000 pairs of shoes and about 500 purses, so they never needed to be repaired.

(just kidding)

There was a high end small shoe stoe in the area of Murphys Gas on 466. Difficult to describe, but here goes. 466 north towards the intersection with 301. Take a left at the lights at Murphys Gas Station, then a right and this brings you into a small shopping area running parralel with 466. There is, or used to be, a real live cobbler in a shoe store along there, he repairs just about anything.

All About Feet is closed, at least for the time being.

People who work in leather may be able to direct you. Upholstery, custom gun holsters, horse equipment As far as purchased leather, there are many different qualities of leather and the animal it comes from.

Default Leather repair

The Villages leather club fixed a bracelet for me once. Very friendly. It has been several years but they used to meet at Colony Rec center.

Bonnie Miller, who lives in The Villages, not only judges horse shows around the country but does superb custom leather work (like chaps with lots of bling) in her own home that she sells all over the world. You might find her in The Villages address and phone book. Here is her email.

I don’t know if she does that sort of leatherwork, but she might. She also has a large selection of amazing leather.

For heavier work in leather such as putting in new zippers, there is a little shop outside Ocala that is used by in-the-know horse people for repairs to bridles, boots, etc. Look it up online. That guy could glue the leather, but I don’t know if he does the sort of fine hand sewing you might need.

I’ve used Lombardos in Ocala to repair the leather strap on one of my bags.

Google them for phone # and address.

Small ad in today's Daily Sun: Leather Store - Bikers, Purses, Wallets - Market of Marion, Bldg. B.

That's it. No phone in ad.
