I hardly think reflecting on the redundancy of stores qualifies as "bashing". And a five paragraph castigation was a bit excessive.

I didn't take Doc's post as castigating at all, accurate,, but not castigating.

Please note the definition of bashing:
Bashing is a harsh, gratuitous, prejudicial attack on a person, group, or subject. Literally, bashing is a term meaning to hit or assault, but when it is used as a suffix, or in conjunction with a noun indicating the subject being attacked, it is normally used to imply that the act is motivated by bigotry.[citation needed] The term is also used metaphorically, to describe verbal or critical assaults. Topics which attract bashing tend to be highly partisan and personally sensitive topics for the bashers, the victims, or both.

Again, I reiterate, I don't see reflecting on the repetition of stores as bashing.

I agree. It also brings an old saying to mind. The one who smelt it dealt it.

I agree, but those who raised the issue of bashing seem to fall into this definition.

Could it be that there are only a dozen or so businesses that want to do business in The Villages, and if it were not for these businesses, there would only be vacant buildings?

Huge fan of yours Bogie. You are right once again.

Demand and supply is not based on individuals. It is based on what sells.
