Default Cement truck overturned on Morse/466a

Heavens, my heart is pounding. There are at least a dozen vehicles trying to clear the road where a cement truck has overturned on Morse just south of 466 a. I hope no one was hurt, but it looks horrible. Morse road is blocked but 466 – a is clear.

We were over at Colony around 3:30pm and saw the mess. Could not tell what happened but it now explains why two heavy wreckers were there.

That's exactly what it looked like had happened. Hope the driver wasn't seriously injured. Nothing funny there...

Not funny at all. Vehicle appeared to have rolled onto its left side.

My husband and I watched the cement truck being up righted. We wondered if another vehicle cut off the driver as he was trying to make the turn.. I have seen that happen several times and the driver does his best to avoid an accident and ends up the victim..
But then maybe not ..

Actually it is concrete the truck was hauling.. Cement is the bonding agent that holds the sand and stones together. Sorry, but a retired highway engineer cannot let this go uncorrected.

Thanks, War, I thought cement was the formative stuff. I made a consciously ignorant choice NOT to call it concrete...

Do you have any concrete evidence of this?

I live south of 466a . There is a huge amount of construction work being done in that area. What I have noticed often is that these big trucks, cement, framing and dump trucks drive thru this area a bit fast.

Correct! I have always thought of it as cement is the dry stuff and concrete is what you have after you add all the other ingredients. Hope the driver was not injured in this mishsp.

Driver is in hospital in Ocala. Possible head injury. Not sure what caused the accident. Part of the truck broke during the turn.
And yes, It is called concrete after it is all mixed, but that is the last thing we are worried about the correct terminology when a accident has happened.

Kitty thanks for the post. I was going to post lastnight, but we were at the accident with our truck.
