I am now just catching up on the Russ departure. I have tried to catch up on all the postings related. What happened to cause Russ to leave? I guess I must've been skimming more posts than I thougt.

On the other hand I have noticed that lately there has been many more posts that are "less friendly" than when I first started lurking on here. I for one, am sure going to miss reading Russ' posts. I found them to be VERY informative.

I'm glad you said something. I thought it was just me. I've been on here for a while and noticed in the past few days something's not right. Can't put
my finger on it but something has definitely changed on this forum. There are alot of new screen names (not that there's anything wrong with that - just that newbies tend to lurk to get a feel of the place) and the crankiness level has escalated....imho, of course.

Maybe I'll shift into newbie mode and just lurk for a while till things are back to the forum's norm.

Drink your kool-aid and get back in the bubble - the IRS investigation - the AAA rating - will all go away - and we will be happily for ever

Default not sure but....

KandJ, I am hoping Russ will go thru withdrawal and be back but I do think there were some nasty posts in the Rats in the (?) villas post. Someone specifically called him out and I think there were other posts like that. Really makes me sad that some don't see the need to watch what they say on this forum...words are mighty powerful.

I have been misunderstood on this forum and felt it was better to not try to defend since it often just muddied the waters.

Yep. The best way to handle cyber bullies is to ignore them completely. Engaging them in any way at all only energizes and encourages them.

Kim, I feel that Russ is the only one that can truly answer that question. If I tried to explain I'd only be putting my words into his mouth... and I don't want to do that. As for the "less friendly"? IMHO, it's because there is a new owner, new administrator and some are testing how far they can go just as a young child will test their parents to see how much they can get away with. However, I also think that the Admin will straighten that out once he gets a handle on just who the actual players are that are testing him!

P.S. I agree with you about Russ!

Someone said Russ had activity on TOTV at 12:30 last night. I guess you can check the statistics. So maybe he is taking a temporary break and will get back in, or not. As much as many liked him and his posts, people do come and go for various reasons. Others will fill the void. Skyguy, I think you hit the nail on the head with your comment about the new adminstrator and some are testing how far they can go! My hunch is, not too far.

Kim,

I am in agreement with you on both points. Just my 2 cents. I'm afraid to look at the stock market, so probably way less than 2 cents now.

The problem for Russ escalated beyond just negative posts. He was beginning to receive e-mails that were borderline threatening and that is just not a good thing.

But, I believe you will see him on-line from time to time because like most of us, we want to stay in touch with what's happening in the hood here.

But I also think that once he's finally settled in down here later this year GG and the rest of her gang around here will be able to put enough pressure on him to return. I certainly hope so.

SERIOUSLY?!

In his final post, Russ alluded that could be a bit ornery and confrontational
(my words to paraphrase his words); HOWEVER, in the 7 months that I have been a TOTV member I did not read anything that Russ posted that would warrant such behavior.

Truth be told, I haven't read any post- even from the occasional troll- that would justify retaliation via a threatening email, or worse.

INEXCUSABLE!

If I was Russ, I would've copied and pasted such emails to the TOTV, and let the collective 18,000 of us see for ourselves what is what. Doing so might've spurred additional action from the Admin.
