Default Perpendicular stacking lanai windows

We want to enclose our Lanai with glass, but have the ability to slide open the windows to walk into our birdcage. I’ve seen the windows that stack to one side, but they are ‘parallel’ to the track. I was hoping to find a window system that pivots, so the windows are perpendicular, to take up less space between the columns. Is there such a thing?

I think you are referring to sliding glass doors (??) I seem to recall seeing some that rotated to stack flat when you opened them, but I can't find a link to it now.

If there is such a thing, I bet Entry Point on Bichara would know about it.

Default Lanai Sliders to Birdcage and Pool

My husband and I wanted to install that type of doors; however, after research and interviewing 4 companies, these doors are not suitable for our weather and have a tendency to leak. One company actually stopped offering them because of leaking issues.

Instead we had double pane, low-e sliders installed on our lanai (Woodside Model). They open and stack on one side to the right and the other side to the left from a center column. Allows us the view of the pool. We used Windows of Central Florida and were impressed with the workmanship.

While I have not seen this done, maybe the sliders could be installed either inside or outside of the columns so that they would slide into the column area. Inside would probably be better due to possible leakage concerns. Good luck with your project.
