Small RV needed for 1-2 months
We’re looking to borrow(rent)
Someone’s smaller RV. Starting approximately end of April for 1-2 months. We live in the village of Newell. We will only be traveling from the village of Newell to upstate NY and back again. Thank you for considering! |

There is a huge risk to the owner of an RV that chooses to rent it out to individuals starting with insurance liability and the issue of cleanliness There's so much that can go wrong on these especially the newer models. I've had many of them and it's not worth taking a chance repairs can cost thousands of dollars and generally are not caused by an accident so insurance will not cover it. Play it safe rent one from a dealer there are plenty of them to choose from or buy one and rent it out yourself when you're not using it. Over the years many people wanted to rent or borrow my RVs and never would I allow that to happen.

also Outdoorsy. .
We rented an RV trailer from Outdoorsy, and had no issues. . . you may have a mileage issue, which is stupid for a trailer, just a way to tease you with a low rate, and then increase their revenue for longer trips . . Went from Maine to Canada last summer, PEI because now, US citizens can no longer by Canadian RE.. . . not that we were interested in buying, but because a lot of Canadians will own the vacation houses and use it versus rent it out. The trailer was not a brand new one, well used, but just fine to sleep in and not have to own. . . |

Personally I would rather use car and Motel it on the journey.
RV rental is not cheap, and they drink gas. As a second option, buy a cheapo, and sell it it on return. If I owned an RV, I would never lend or hire it to anyone. |

Not easy to leave your per at home for months. You can find rvs that allow pets. See it all the time when people rent

If I didn't own an RV I would fly and rent one.
When we were seeing if owning an RV was for us we were living in Massachusetts and wanted to explore.
First trip was flying out to Salt Lake City and renting one from a dealer. Great experience, drove through Yellowstone and camped on Antelope Island in the middle of the Great Salt Lake. Second trip was to Tampa where we rented one and camped at Fort DeSoto. We are now frogs and drive to Maine and Canada each summer with the dog. We have a trusted dog sitter where we can leave the dog when necessary but he enjoys the trip. |

We owned an RV for 5 years and would never rent it out…just too many things the renter could screw up/break. Renting for 1-2 months from a rental company will cost you a ton. I agree just buy a used one locally and sell it when you are done end of May which is prime buying season. The best company to rent from is a private guy in NJ called “84 RV Rental”. All their units are under 2 years old. Get a price from them for the timeframe you are looking for and you will see it might be less expensive to buy and sell.
