What’s with all these light poles being knocked down in roundabouts on BV? I think I counted 5 from mulberry to palmers golf course?

The lady next door to her says you get 2 points for each pole you knock so they are in competition.

I was driving on Morse between 44 and 466A and at one of the roundabouts there was a small white SUV on it's roof in the middle of the grass area. It had taken out a pole also. It's hard to figure out how the woman driving the SUV was able to roll it onto the roof in the grass area in the center of the roundabout. On this stretch of road there are 2 poles that have been taken down.

I suspect these light poles must contain very strong magnets which just pull cars right into them.

It's the new Village residents .
They ask directions to places, people tell them to drive straight up Buena Vista or Morse ..............and ![]() |

I'm scratching my head over this too...didn't realize there were that many knocked over on BV, as we usually travel Morse
never have understood how the gates get knocked down so often This damage can't just be caused by drunk drivers, some of it has to be by elderly drivers that shouldn't be behind the wheel perhaps an actual road test should be required once we reach a certain age instead of being able to renew online for ten years There are other forms of identification besides a drivers license...driving isn't "a right", but in this day and age, you take away someone's license and you've basically taken away their life has anyone heard how that 'driverless' car experiment went in TV? |

It's the speeders. I am tail-gated and passed by SUV's every day. They're in a hurry. Most do not appear "elderly". I don't know if they're late for work, dinner or tee time. I'm not even sure they are residents. Some of the 3/4 ton and up trucks are the worst. You can't go through most of the round-abouts at 40 or 45 mph. Slow down!

I don’t know that more light posts are getting knocked down. I do think it’s taking longer to fix them. In the past, if one lamp post was knocked down each week you’d see maybe one lamp post down. Now it’s taking about a month to get them back up. So if it were still one lamp post a week being knocked down you’d see 4 down.

They are being targeted by some of the more confused TV folks. They are mistaking them for monuments.

Br thankful that the light poles are the ones that go down on impact rather than the old style ones that caused injury or death. There is some sort of law that says any pole or sign on a roadway will eventually be hit.

According to the local paper there is now a light pole club. Whoever knocks down the most in a month becomes president for the next month.

In the circle in front of Arnold Palmer's the car hit the pole and was flipped upside down (or flipped upside down and hit the pole).
Just think for a minute what one would have to be doing to make that happen!! |
