Default The Villages MS Walk. A video, please look!

Every year Villages residents who have Multiple Sclerosis, along with their friends and supporters, particiapte in a "walk" around the polo field to raise money for the MS society. It was held this year on Saturday March 29th.

My wife Amity was diagnosed with MS about 20 years ago, and unlike so many others, she is fortunate that it has not advanced. She keeps herself in shape and can be seen in this video chugging along at about 5.5. miles per hour with her yellow shirt and black shorts. She was the first one in after the "up to" three mile event.

I have put together a video presentation of that day. Please click twice on the start button to view it.

Thanks for the video Jan and congratulations to Amity on her achievement. I hope to be there for the 2009 MS walk to cheer on Amity and all the walkers. May even walk myself!

Beautiful video, Jan. Brought tears to my eyes.

Can you post next year's event on the calendar so we'll be sure to remember it? Thanks, I'd really like to be there.

Kathie

Very nice video. Didn't even know this was happening. I agree with Kathi, maybe events like this could be put on the event calendar.

Thank you so much for walking and helping raise funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. This is a wonderful video.
The mission of the MS Society is to "end the devastating effects of MS" and the tremendous support by you and all the folks who walked will lead the Society to meet that goal. I look forward to joining the Walk next year in person.

I just found this thread using google
site:https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums multiple sclerosis

My wife Davina also has MS and we're just two years away before I can retire and we can come to live in TV. As she is on SSDI she just went on medicare in TN. The drug she's on is tysabri. Just wondering if other MS patients in TV are currently on medicare.
The cost of this drug is a mere $44K per year but all the durgs that treat the disease but unfortunately not cure it, are very very expensive.

So if you know anyone, I woud like to reach out to them.

thanks
