Red Sauce employee smokers

It isn't just at the bar! Red Sauce employees on break smoke behind Haagen Daas Ice Cream Shop. Twice now, after strolling back there with our ice cream to enjoy the lake view, we were chased away by apron-clad Red Sauce employees polluting everyone's air. It's awful. I think back now to those few teenage years when I smoked, and wonder how many times I fouled someone else's air? Sorry...:ohdear:

The smell from ashtrays bothers me so I would not sit anywhere with these around.

Everytime I find myself getting upset about anything like this,I remind myself-relax,be cool, this is the Villages PARADISE roll with the flow let it go.I use to even rail on here when I saw something I disagreed with. Now I just send these posts urging others to take a deep breath and don't let these things spoil PARADISE[which is what we have here] Actually reading Gracie's posts have helped me achieve this attitude, thank you dear.Returning tonight for two weeks then for good June 20.Hooray!

And SOME of you would be so kind as to not categorize "smokers" who toss their butts (cigarettes that is)......please use the proper, realistic case...SOME SMOKERS....remember that like everything else it is the minority (not race) that cause the problems. We do so frequently tend to tar a whole group with the inconsiderate actions of a very few.

btk

I don't believe I said "all" smokers, but it is the smokers who are throwing their cigarette butts on the ground.

Graciegirl's posts are little happy pills. She probably has done better than many realtors on getting homes sold here in the Villages.

Back to the subject of the thread, smoking in the Villages seems like a rather petty issue when you look at how few places smokers now can light up in Florida.

Drive through any beachside town on a hot afternoon and you'll find that the patio dining and bars are mobbed, while the indoor dining (no smoking areas) have maybe two diners. One of the reasons restaurants and bars weren't effected by the original smoking ban was because a lot of them very quickly added outdoor eating and drinking areas.

This argument was used before my current home state passed smoking restriction laws. After the laws were passed, there was no drop off in tourist or the bar business. Smokers are a minority. The laws may have actually increased the number of tourist and customers at restaurants and bars who do not like breathing other peoples smoke.

Ruby Tuesday has a smoke free outside area-

What are the laws in Hawaii with respect to smoking?? It looks like Hawaii is in for shake-ups in this area. Committee votes to reverse smoking ban | KHON2 Hawaii's News Leader Page 1

smoking

I hardly ever post a reply but this thread got my attention. With all of the great places to eat and drink here how in the world is this person offended by someone smoking in a smoking area. To me it looks like they just went out of their way to find something to complain about. If you don't like smoke I understand but to sit in a smoking area and complain about it is really stupid on your part. There I said my piece.

No second smoke...

Just curious...

I smoke a e-cig for about a year now, Haven't has a real cigarette in that amount of time, Your right all it is water Vapor, Anyway I was smoking mine on the outside patio at Palmer and the waitress came over and said that a patron was complaining about my smoke, I explained to her that it was a e cigarette, she said she would tell the complainer , she came back and said that the person complaining still didn't like the looks of it, I went to this woman and showed her that it was water vapor and she said that it looked like smoke and that she wanted it out, I told her in that it was legal to use and I was outside and that because she didn't like the looks of it was not my concern and I continued to smoke the e-cig, That woman was sitting about 20 feet from me. By the way neither of us were eating, but having a drink.

Why not turn off the e-cig, offer to buy the lady a drink, and strike up a friendship?

Why not just fire these bad boys up inside? It's your house, you can smoke where you want, or does mama chase you outside?
