Default Yankee Trails bus service

Just a heads up for people having a future reservation with Yankee Trails. We have used them many times in the past and have been happy with their service. Today, they picked us up at the Port Everglades cruise terminal and were supposed to drop us off at the Sunoco station in Wildwood. After dropping passengers off at Plantation on Rt. 441, we noticed that the driver missed his turn to head towards Wildwood. When I asked the driver, he said they no longer use the Wildwood location for pickups or dropoffs and we would be dropped off at the Beall's parking lot in Lady Lake. We weren't the only ones on the bus that were affected. Normally, this would not have been a big deal, but the person picking us up had already left the house and didn't have a cell phone with them. Without getting lengthy, we stood in the Beall's parking lot for an hour while waiting for an alternative ride. The bus driver said he received an email from Yankee Trails that they tried to notify us (and others) but were unable to reach us. That definitely did not happen. Just FYI.

We will be using Yankee Trails next Saturday and will check if they make a sunoco pickup. We've had issues with some of their drivers in the past.

Has anyone left their car in the parking lot at Bealls for the week? We are leaving at 6:30 Dec. 20th. Len & Mary

We always leave from Bealls and leave our car. BUT we have a very good friend who picks up our car and drives it back to our driveway and leaves it there. Then, on the day before we return he leaves our car in the Bealls parking lot for us, so we are just able to get off the bus and drive home. .

I am sure you know lots of people who would be able to help you, maybe even one of your employees would do it for you.

Ask Julie for a refund of your one way trip as compensation.

Skip.

We are lucky enough to have a very kind neighbor who takes us to Bealls. A very early start for him, but he would be offended if we didn't accept his offer each time.

Not always easy to get a return ride, though. Since the bus gets back at different times we don't like to ask our neighbor, and YT are not very helpful in securing a taxi for us. We even had one taxi firm that asked if we'd used them to get to Bealls and when we said we hadn't they refused to come out to us. Very strange way to run a taxi business.

Who goes to pick someone up with our taking their cell? There's numerous reasons a delay could happen. Sorry, that's on your friend.

Believe it or not, there are still people who do not, and will never, have a cell phone. Unfortunately my husband is one of them which is a real pain if I want to reach him.
