I am enrolled in Experian ID Notify and just received notification that my SS number was compromised last August. Placed freud alert with credit agencies and called SS office. Nothing suspicious on credit report currently.

It took ID Notify 5 months to notify me....oh well, it is provided as a free service due to previous compromises of my information.

Fortunately, I've not had any ID theft. However, we are all more vulnerable than we think.
Some will scream do not. That is probably good advice BUT, we all have in the past.
Your social security number is on file at your doctor's office, credit card companies, brokerage, bank, in college, at least my college, it was your student id number. Just the few that come to mind. Sad we all live with the thought that the world is out to get us. Even worse, it is true the world IS out to get us.
