Any suggestions for a good, reliable and reasonably priced person to descale my tankless water heater?

Unless you just really don't want to do it, it is very easy to do yourself. All you need is a one time purchase of a 1/4hp sump pump. A set of washing machine hoses, a 5 gallon bucket and a couple gallons of vinegar. Get on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...s+water+heater

If you want someone else to do it I hear Kiley and Sons are a good plumbing outfit. I would imagine most handymen could also handle it.

Default Water Heater Descaling

Andy’s Descaling Service (Andy Twiss) 508-726-5257. He lives in The Villages. He flushed our this summer and did a great job. It took about an hour and I think he charged $60.

Do all hot water heaters need to be descaled or just the tankless kind?

Most people don't do any maintenance on a tank type water heater. You can flush out a tank type water heater, but there is always a risk that you will create a leak in the drain valve. The Rheem manual "suggests" that you drain a small amount of water every month or so but doesn't recommend a complete flushing. I have never done any maintenance on a tank water heater, but some people do.

Agreed. Leave it alone until it fails. But also check it every once in a while for leaks.
