Default Softball Batting Coach?

Hello there - my husband plays with a neighborhood softball team on Saturdays for the first time in more years than our now adult child is old. Loves it but as a refresher I would like to find a coach to help with batting, any suggestions? Looked on the internet and Orlando seems to be the closest.

Thank you for your help -

Tree Tops on Rolling Acres Road has batting cages for softball. Maybe call and ask them.

Since your hubby is already on a team, I would suggest asking the other team players for advice. I know softball is big here, but as I do not participate I do not have firsthand knowledge of any coaches.

D1 guys play on Fridays at Everglades. I’m pretty sure some of them could serve as a batting coach or know someone who could. Games are in the mornings.

Brian ‘the beard’ Brown is a touring Miken Pro and plays with us in D1. He gives individual hitting lessons. I think it’s like 30 or 40 per hour.

Dm me and I’ll give you his email address

Another good resource is YouTube. Search for ‘swing makeover softball’.

Ken Van Bogaert runs that channel and gives lessons in St Pete in the winter. Two years ago we helped him do a free clinic for veterans in the villages. Who knows, maybe he will do another one.

"touring Miken Pro" Meh! Now, if he hits a home run every 2 at bats or his batting average was like 850 or maybe if he was one of the better hitters in the COUNTRY, then I would be impressed... What, wait, he IS. Oh OK, maybe a lessen from him would help.

That’s who I was thinking of when I said stop by the D1-guys games on Fridays! I just didn’t want to mention Brian by name because I wasn’t sure he gave individual lessons. He was our batting coach for our ladies tri- county team and he is awesome.
