Default Relo realtor question

We are using the relo dept which means that they get a piece of the commission when we sell our house. In turn this means a smaller commission for the buyer/seller agents. Does this also mean that an agent will be less likely to show my house because of the smaller chunk of the commission? Scary thought.

Everyone that we know that has used the relo department has been more than satisfied with all aspects of the transaction. We had already listed with a local agent but wished we would have known about the relo program sooner.

My friend in Poinciana used it and she is a perfectionist and careful with money. She raved about it. It must be good.

We used relo and sold our house in a little over two months in December!

I know part of the commission is rebated - but I believe it is only your selling agent (*and his/her broker) that are affected. Not the agent representing the buyer.

We are using them now. So far so good. I'll let you know if things go sour.

Default Kate is right

I posed the question to my agent and she told me that the buying agent's commission is not affected. We just lowered our price and are hoping it generates some showings and a sale so we can get to TV. Thanks for the feedback.

Short answer: there's no effect on selling Brokers' compensation. Showing/Selling Broker gets whatever is agreed to prior to showing. Normally, this is done via MLS listing that shows offer of compensation (% or $ amount).

In your case, only the listing Broker pays (around 30 - 35% of listing side) the "referral fee" to the relo outfit.

My experience, now more than 4 years ago, says DO NOT FRET!

The relocation folks served me very well, found me couple/three agencies to choose from. Each was well known in the city - no fly-by-nighters - and the individual agents who responded to my call were all top-notch and experienced - no wet-behind-the-ears kids!

Scenarios might be different today, but I'd still feel very comfortable with the relo folks. Don't fret over the commission bit - at this point, it's only money!

Please keep in mind that no matter who you use, you must be sure to do your own due diligence.
