Up North, we always had an outdoor grill, and we always had to replace these after 2-3 sometimes 4 years. I am looking for feedback from others that found better quality units, all stainless steel? The grill will be stored outdoors on a concrete pad, and if I can find a high quality cover, it will be covered. On all of the previous units, it was generally the heating elements/burners that failed by rusting out. Thank you for your help.

We just moved from MA to TV this past December and had a 3 burner Weber propane grill for 15 years. It was kept outside with a good quality Weber cover and the only thing I ever had to replace were the "flavor bars", after about 10 years. I would have brought it with me when we moved, but the burners were starting to get pretty rusty and would have needed to be replaced soon. I think it was a pretty good investment - I paid about $400 for it and it lasted a long time.

We're moving into a new home next month, and I will be buying another Weber! We're currently renting a home here in TV and it has a built-in Vermont Castings grill. It's pretty heavy duty, but I like cooking on the Weber much better.

Get a Weber gas grill. In the last twenty-five years I have had three Weber gas grills. Only had to replace them when I moved and than gave them to people who as far as I know still have them. Bought our last one when we moved to The Villages four years ago. Still operates like new. It is on our concrete patio and has always be cleaned and covered after use. Also they sell replacement parts where you buy the grills, so if you did need something you can probably find it in the future

Ace Hardware, 3417 Wedgewood Ln stocks several sizes of Weber grills. They set them up and I believe deliver them at no additional charge. We've had a Weber Baby Q for more than 5 years and it's like the original. Relatives believing they could buy a less expensive BBQ than Weber bought one from HD about the same time, and they've recently put it out for trash. Ace also sells Weber replacement parts. So we're very happy with Weber.

The only thing better is a Weber charcoal grill. Grilling is fun. Grilling is therapeutic. Grilling taste is to die for. Why go half way with gas.

I will also vote for Weber although CR lists other good grills. My Webers last forever but I always keep them covered. I think this is the secret. Since I retired I use charcoal 80% of the time. Weber kettle grill. Using the chimney you can start charcoal in 20 minutes. I cook hams and pork loins on indirect heat and people love them.

If you're looking for a quality high end grill, I recommend TEC infrared grill (Discover the Taste of TEC Our Moist, Tender, Juicy Charbroiled Flavor). They're mega bucks but cook great (particularly good for steaks) and last forever. I have one for over 7 years, store it outside, and it looks brand new.

Weber Weber Weber... pay the extra $$$ and get a Weber... unless you like cooking with lump charcoal then get a Big Green Egg... they cook awesome! True grilling flavor that you can not get from a propane grill. And you can start lump charcoal real fast without lighter fluid by using an Looftlighter $70 on Amazon

Good advice! I have a Weber and was going to replace it, instead I replaced the bars with Stainless Steel, and replaced the flame spreaders. Well worth it, oh and replaced the Weber cover looks like new...Honest.
