It's all nonsense, since nothing was given in writing...

What possible reason would a developer have for stating, in writing, that they will never expand their development?

Sure, they might tell you they currently have no plans to expand. Or, they might tell you they don't own the property south of <466, 466A, 44, xxx>. But when land becomes available, plans change.

(I know you understand this but I'm amazed at how many apparently don't.)

Once they started building Brownwood, some 7-8 years ago, if anyone actually thought they were going to stop @ 44 should have had their head examined...

There was no way that Town Square was built for just the area around Buena Vista and Hillsborough...

Well it has reached 11 pages. I don't know how you determine if it is a successful post but I am sure the advertising agents at the TOV appreciate it.

You know, bad posts are better than no posts.

I seem to recall that village sales rep were spreading the word that the villages would be built out at 44. Thinking that info was to drum up resale business.

I agree... It must be that some have an inferiority complex...

I've never bashed south of 44. I travel down there quite often.

BUT... When we were looking to buy, Chitty Chatty and Bradford were all that was available (new), and SWMBO would NOT buy a home with power lines near it, or even within view. That was her red line...

We looked in Marsh bend, but nothing was available, so we found our home in Osceola Hills.

Since then, we looked in Richmond and Marsh Bend (which we both like a lot, as long as it's not too close to the turnpike), but we've not seen anything that would cause us to move...

Once we're frogs, I would like to find a place w/a pool. So, we'll see what happens...

Was that recalled from the grapevine?

They had to say that. Can you imagine how much more they would have to pay for the new properties if they said " sure, we are going to expand until we run out of land to buy"

That was a scare tactic used to drive sales IMHO. Buy now or lose out message. It implies future scarcity. Act now!

In 2007 our first stay, we were told by every sales rep VLS and MLS, that this was the last homes to be built. LSL was a ghost town, it was so new.

The Minute a new home was finished it sold 30 seconds later. The “no more building” was a great sales technique. Every new and preowned home was selling in a panic, because of that rumor.

Looking back TV already had property beyond, and then some, but that wasn’t public knowledge. So they family has held true in keeping what the next move is very tight.

We waited didn’t buy into the buying frenzy, waited, new area opened and we bought a new home for $26,000 less than in “07”.

So yes there was that rumor never in writing, because the family knew exactly what they were doing, as in smart business people

We are building a pool in Richmond as are multiple homes in Richmond. In 1-2 years there will be homes with pools for sale.

Exactly. That is why I take all of these "We're going to stop building when we reach XYZ" with a BOULDER of salt...

So what was the "sales technique" they used that caused them to need a "lottery' for the new homes south of 44?

What was their "scare tactic"?

Plenty of places in our neighborhood and the immediate area with pools. I'd like to stay close to the friends we have now...

One thing about TV, there are always houses for sale...

Ok, then how much more can they expand? And in what direction? Looks like it is clear sailing until Center Hill.
