There actually are some streets over by the Pike that you can wave to the drivers LOL but people knew that when they bought them at giveaway prices and don't seem to mind. Maybe they used to live by airports or other highways, who knows.

You must be very very bored. Open the Villages app - Calendar and find some activities.

But, the south has a lot more nature trails.

Right! There are walking paths everywhere! In the northern areas you just have to know where to find them. For instance, there is a beautiful garden path in Lake Sumter Landing near the Creekside CYV. And, another path that runs through the back of the landing complete with beautiful waterfalls. Plus many more throughout the Northern area. Few people use them because they do not know about them.

You’re absolutely right - and there will unfortunately be those from Middleton and Eastport (the new north end), that will bash those newbies who have bought homes south of 470.

Or…. In 10+ years will there be a reverse, as Spanish Springs begins to “turn over” and a new generation comes in to replace older residents and “gentrifies” the area, thus becoming the new younger, hot spot?

Or as in other urban areas, since interneral restrictions are not enforced, aging homes and neighborhoods will start to degrade, converted to rentals and remaing residents will migrate south.

Give away prices? I must have missed that! When I was looking for a home in that area I was told "no discounts."

In most cases, they are called sidewalks.

Not true at all! People do not know where the paths are in the Northern area. I have been walking these paths daily for years, each time, it feels like my private sanctuary. The paths are beautiful and surrounded by gardens.

I have heard that homes by the turnpike do go for less due to noise issues

Absolutely. That is why I never say "we have" or "they have" when talking about the various areas of TV. Everyone has everything. Choose the area that you like and the home you like and then travel to the things you want to do. That is what I have learned in my years here.

It is not a contest.

No discounts, but they were certainly priced lower that other homes.

I'm not sure that will come to fruition. The homes south of 44 are much more modern overall. You're not going to have many people fulfilling their dream of retiring in their mid 50's and getting excited living in prefab homes with oak or white MDF cupboards and featuring linoleum and parquet flooring like exists in the north end.
