That part of Meggison is going to the main route to and from the Turnpike for people living below 44 and north of the turnpike. This includes Bradford, Hawkins, St Catherine, Citrus Grove, Cason Hammock, Newell, and Lake Denham - and probably for a lot of people who live north of 44 who don't want to go farther north and west to the Wildwood exit.

I don't think that Moyer and Pinellas are main routes to anywhere.

Those are very valid points. Maybe the Developer didn't think things thru as thoroughly as you have.

The speed limit is low enough on that section of Meggison to make that route as unattractive as it is with Marsh Bend trail between 301 and Warm Springs.

Have you driven on Marsh Bend Trail since they opened it up to 301?

There already is access to that side, it's just a little weird getting to it. If you are on the Sawgrass Market side of the road you have to go a little bit south to where the MMP ends and golf carts have to go into the street. You cross over Meggison and get back on the MMP going north on the other side and it will take you there.

Yes, Warm Springs is 4-lane but it does not intersect 470.

I think you meant Marsh Bend Trail. However, it isn't the fastest route if you live near Sawgrass. You would have to drive north to Warm Springs, west to Marsh Bend, south to 470, and east to the Turnpike.

There is access - but no tunnel. That is what makes it dangerous. From Brownwood down to Sawgrass Grove, golf carts do not cross Meggison and they do not have a lane on Meggison. Then when you get to Sawgrass Grove, carts have a cart lane and they cross Meggison.

It looks like the developer is more focused on saving money than on safety south of Sawgrass Grove.
