I recall they had speed bumps at some of the Villages' gates but those did not last.

Coffee and donuts once a month, for staff, cause not enough fines to buy weekly

They can treat the road surface like on some places on highways so that if you go beyond a certain speed it becomes very uncomfortable. I am not recommending it, just saying there are many physical ways to calm traffic.

Try a stroller with a doll covered in catsup. That will give them a thrill.

Can’t say, but that seems the stroller pusher would get a big ticket.

Besides, what makes you sure they would bother to stop? Probably hit the gas and highball it out of Dodge. |

I’m thinking you’re an engineer by profession, some (ahem) friends used ball bearings….

It's the wild west here.
Bothers me more for vehicles transiting passengers. The Workman and Groom vans can often be observed doing more than 10-20 over the limit locally and on the Turnpike. |

I agree. I am a walker and was almost mowed down by a contractor .. with trailer driving about 30 mph aground our block in Linden Isle. I jumped on the grass and hoped no one else was walking across the street.

I still work and drive a company truck. My speed, acceleration and braking is all monitored (by GPS) when I drive. A report is generated monthly and distributed to upper management. It basically shows who has been naughty and who has been nice (a good driver). I assume that all the major companies have a similar system installed in their vehicles.

Please 70 on the turnpike is a suggestion. Norm for many is 75-80, or you get the feeling you are about to get run over

And I like the ball bearing idea. Straight out of Three Stooges foiling some gangsters. |

No, real life but since it’s illegal I won’t go into details.

It never gets "better". Wrote my (negative) comments on this yesterday, and today, on far south portion of Buena Vista, had a DOUBLE tandem pull out of a residential street near Havana C.C. at a rate of speed you'd think they could never reach on such a street... no visible license plate of course, and entered Buena Vista just expecting the cars in the right hand lane to to move left for their big rig... Makes a person wonder if all of them even have a valid driver's license. Florida in general, does seem to have a much higher tolerance for this type of thing than most states we've lived in ? Lack of available appropriate police recruits ? Who knows ?
