Also read this today on Reuters; "The World Health Organization has referred to a 65-70% vaccine coverage in order to achieve herd immunity, Reuters reported." |
Healthcare workers are masked up, gowned up and gloved up. Please explain the numbers in this article:

The conservative estimate is there are over 59,000,000 health workers in the world and 90,000 would make it about 1,525 per million. According to Worldometer number of Covid cases is 7,748 per million. So maybe PPE helps?

Don’t know what 30 different countries use as PPEs, but in New York the studies indicate that:
“New York City and its surrounding metro area have emerged as an epicenter of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak worldwide. A recent population survey1 for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) antibodies among those in New York state shows a prevalence of 21.2% in New York City and 16.7% in Long Island. Across the US, up to 11% of reported COVID-19 cases were found to be in health care professionals....” JAMA intern med Aug 11, 2020 To me, Velvet, that seems to say that health care workers who work directly 12 to 16 hours a day with Covid patients have 1/2 the infection rate that we, walking around in our common everyday lives do. |

Just one question......did you quarantine yourself the the required amount of time when you knew you were in close contact with an infected individual? |

Take a look at what is happening in large cities in our country. Is it sinking in yet? Hospital beds are being set up in remote locations to extend bed capacity. This is no joke. That is happening in our United States. There is a big picture to all of this......not you individual risk is at stake here. |
