10 to 20 times the death of the neighbors... from a completely preventable disease. If that was death from guns would we be putting those responsible in jail?

The death ratio to population from Covid in Sweden is .00064 and their curve has remained relatively flat after their initial outbreak.
“Completely preventable “ - really...

Yes, “completely preventable” is how health authorities describe Covid. There is no excuse for allowing these deaths to happen, if that was your mother, your brother, your child, would it matter to you what the national percentage is as you walk behind their casket?

“Health authorities”? Really?!?
Who?

You are right about the death rate it is less than before in Sweden but there is a lag and the Covid cases are higher than ever. I hope that the deaths will not follow. Covid has also long term effects; brain fog etc.

As far as completely preventable goes beside hearing it on news channels, it is also self evident. Study the virus. If one takes the right precautions, one doesn’t get it. That is why it was said that China did not contain it. They built a “wall” to protect themselves but not the world. The problem is that now the virus has spread to such an extent that one has to take drastic measures to stop getting Covid.

I hope you do not feel helpless about Covid, may you be safe.

I don’t know of anyone reputable in the scientific or medical community that believes that this virus is “completely preventable”.

First off, it is the liberals that keep suggesting that anyone that does not agree with them is saying that the virus is a "hoax." No one is really saying that, other than one poster that was probably being sarcastic.
To the one that asked how long should the quarantine be, it appears that the length of quarantine has been decreased to about 10 days. Probably because they can't get folks to agree to two weeks quarantine.
For those that keep saying how the medical professionals are wearing masks and are safe, why don't you REALLY take a look at them. They are supplementing their masks with full face shields, washing constantly and wearing disposable over garments. If you wish to emulate them, go for it. No one is stopping you from taking whatever precautions you wish. Don't try to mandate that on me, because I don't care what you do.

No. I don’t trust the stats after so many (59) medical establishments were caught lying to make more money from Medicare.

Living during a pandemic I would have to argue that point.

Just wear the darn mask. :ohdear:

You could have your wish. Please volunteer to take my next door neighbor's place?. He resides in Lady Lake Cemetery. Body is probably still in decent condition as it's only been ~2 months. I can look up the plot number if you are serious. I'm sure he won't care what physical shape you are in as long as you are still breathing but his wife and kids might be a bit more selective on that.

LOL ! Have you listened to the "experts" lately ? They don't have a clue as to what else we can be doing ! Just look at the mask wearing IN the Villages, and yet, screaming headlines that it's spreading like wild fire here..... or so the headlines say...

We lost our next door neighbor in the Villages to Covid last July as well. She was a wonderful woman and a great neighbor. Some people simply refuse to accept reality, until it runs them over.

Is there no end to the rude, nasty, smug, and self serving posts on here ? Good grief people, does writing such things anonymously do something for some people ? What, exactly, to they get out of it psychologically ? A kind of one's "upsmanship" and yet, everyone losses including those who post these kinds of (what they think are "cute", mature, intelligent, remarks ?) things.

Yea, then there's those who profess to know everything who hide behind an anonymous post. I gave the guy a chance to have his wish. The post you are whining about that I quoted said "I [he]would rather be dead than being just one more sheeple" Well, there are lot's of people pushing up daisies who would trade places with him for just the opportunity for a do-over on this virus. I stand by what I wrote. If you feel it's being smug and rude, then I'll accept that compliment because it was meant to be. Don't agree with nasty though.

Velvet 11-26-2020 11:05 PM

I think if I had lost a loved one or a good friend I’m not sure I would disagree with EdFNJ. It sounds hard but those people who say they’d rather be dead... have no idea really that they may actually die, a very painful death from Covid and leave those who value them in great grief.
