Round up, the trick is timing.
Right now in dry season, apply right after a sprinkler cycle so it can take effect over a few days before next sprinkle. In summer it's pretty much ineffective do to daily rains.

I don’t use roundup anymore since it was found to cause cancer a number of years back. I use Ortho products now.

Be careful using any grass/weed killer that is advertised as "extended control" and uses the chemical dicambra. If used around your bushes, shrubs or trees it can stunt their growth or kill them. Regular RoundUp, vinegar or the other stuff seems to be ok. Be careful of dicambra.

As I understand it, Round Up was only found to cause cancer by jurors being convinced by lawyers who sued the company to make a lot of money.

The EPA says that Round Up is safe to use and it doesn't cause cancer. That is why it is still on the market.

Exactly! I thought if it was so "cancer causing", why is it still on the market. The EPA would not allow it to be sold if it was scientifically proven to cause cancer. I could be wrong, but I don't think so, unless the company who makes round-up is in bed with someone higher up in the EPA. That is always a possibility. It's crazy times we live in.

Round Up is a brand name and the chemical composition varies depending on the specific product. "home use" Roundup is relatively safe and as a result only marginally effective.

I use roundup with the battery powered wand, on hot sunny day, I have rock yard so don’t have to worry about over spray. It you’re going to spray get ones with battery powered wand’s. the pump ups are too much work.

So what is the magic in Ortho? IMO no safer than roundup or any other weed killer.

There is Roundup broadleaf weed killer and Roundup grass and weed killer . If you are using it in the grass you better know what version you have.

I just figured they changed the formula. I am actually involved in one of the many lawsuits as I use to use roundup all the time and have had cancer for over 8.5 years. It would be crazy for me to still use it.

Maybe not but Roundup has had lawsuits, one of which I am involved in, so I don’t use it. Used it for many years around the house, camp, when working on a golf course and a landscaper. Since I have cancer that is listed I might as well try to take care of my family before I am gone.
