Default Sprint Mobile Coverage in TV

I have no problems with Sprint reception at our home in Pinellas (3G to LTE around 3 bars) but when I go to Sumter Landing coverage goes down to 1X and 1-2 bars, basically eliminating data use.

How could Sprint reception be so bad in the heart of TV and fine "on the outer edge"?

Have others experienced the same?

We are part timers for now and I need to keep my Sprint service for work until we retire and become full time Villagers in September 2015. I would hate to upgrade to an iPhone 6 this fall and be stuck with a new 2 year contract if reception in major parts of TV is as bad as I've seen.

I have horrible reception with Sprint on my iPhone 5s. When we stayed in Sanibel in November, I got disconnected from AAA Road Service at least 6 times. I finally used my Mom's TracFone to call them. Unfortunately Sprint doesn't work at our home I'm Michigan either and I have 1 1/2 years left on my contract.

I received a text msg a week or so ago from Sprint saying a tower I used was being updated. I am on Virgin Mobile which uses the Sprint network.

Here is a map of their planned enhancements for the area and tower locations.

Default Stear clear of Straight Talk

If looking into other service, think long and hard before getting Straight Talk at Walmart. My experience with them was terrible but many in TV have not had issues with them. I'm With Verizon now and very pleased. $60.00 mth, unlimited text and talk and 1 gb data.

I talked to Sprint customer service today about the poor reception in 32162 (especially Sumter Landing) even though their coverage map shows 4G capability there. I mentioned my experience and that others had complained about Sprint service on this blog.

I was told they will send out a technician in the next few days to confirm the situation and may need to put in a repeater tower in the area.

Let's hope we see some improvement soon.
